Read your campaign report
What opens, clicks, bounces and unsubscribes are telling you.
After you send a campaign, Mailbo tracks what happens and shows it on the campaign's report page. Here's how to read it and what's "good."
The key numbers
- Delivered — emails that reached the inbox (sent minus bounced).
- Opens / Open rate — how many people opened it, as a percentage of delivered.
- Clicks / Click rate — how many clicked a link.
- Bounces — emails that couldn't be delivered.
- Unsubscribes — people who opted out from this email.
What's a good rate?
Rough benchmarks (they vary a lot by industry):
- Open rate: 20–40% is healthy.
- Click rate: 2–5% is typical.
- Unsubscribe rate: under ~0.5% per send is normal.
Don't obsess over a single send — watch the trend across campaigns.
How to act on it
- Low opens? Work on your subject lines (try A/B testing) and your sender name. Also check you're sending to engaged people, not your whole stale list.
- Good opens but low clicks? Your content or call-to-action needs work — clearer offer, a single obvious button.
- High unsubscribes or bounces? You may be emailing people who didn't really opt in, or too often. Clean your list and segment.
A note on open tracking: opens are measured by a tiny invisible image. Some inboxes (notably Apple Mail's privacy protection) pre-load it, which can inflate opens. Treat opens as a directional signal; clicks are the more reliable measure of real interest.
Next: Segment your audience for sharper sends.
