Why does it say "No email provider connected"?
What the red banner means and how to turn sending on.
If your dashboard shows a red banner reading "No email provider connected. Campaigns, sequences, and automations won't actually send until you finish setup," here's what's going on — and how to fix it.
What it means
Mailbo doesn't run its own mail servers. To actually deliver email, it connects to a sending provider that you own — for example Amazon SES, Mailgun, SendGrid, Postmark, or any SMTP service. Until you connect one:
- You can still build everything — contacts, campaigns, sequences, automations.
- But nothing will actually send. Drafts just sit there.
This is normal for a new account. It's a one-time setup.
How to fix it
- Click Connect now in the banner (or go to Settings → SMTP & sending).
- Choose your provider from the tiles (Amazon SES is the cheapest for most people).
- Enter your sender details and paste the provider's credentials.
- Send yourself a test.
The full, step-by-step provider setup lives in the Sending & Deliverability section of this help center — start there for the exact instructions for your provider.
You'll also need to add your business name and address before sending is unlocked. The two banners are separate requirements.
Once a provider is connected and verified, the banner disappears and your sends go out for real.
